Hi there! It's so funny that you send me a message. I have been wanting to ask you if you wanted to be friends for a long time! :-)
If I were to recommend anything in San Francisco, it would be taking a shuttle or the public transit. The public transit is very active, and it costs $2.00 for adult (in American).
I haven't heard anything about the cab drivers being rude; my experiences have been pretty nice. :-) Here are my recommendations for cabs:
Arrow Cab Company
Phone: (415) 648-3181
Green Cab
Phone: (415) 626-4733
I used those two and was very happy. :-) Now, onto restaurants!
When you are there you HAVE to go to Rose's Cafe on Union x Steiner.

The pastas are delicious and I love the workers. Very friendly and adorable.
There is the Cliffhouse, which has such delicious food. It is expensive, just to warn you.

Here are some things I would suggest, especially if you like art!
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
The Asian Art Museum (Samurai exhibit going on now: http://www.asianart.org/Samurai.htm
Alcatraz (it is VERY touristy, but I do like the history and it is an experience worth taking. There are many ferries that go out there to the island.)
Pier 39 (there are a lot of seals on one side. They are uber cute!)
Clam chowder (you MUST have clam chowder in a bread bowl. Delicious and a tradition.)
Union Square (if you like shopping at high end places (Tiffany's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney's, Bloomingdale's, etc) There is an adorable little cafe right in the square with yummy pastries too. It is in the French Quarter area.
I hope you have fun! :-) I know I missed a lot. San Francisco is huge and gorgeous and lovely.
Take care!
